Jennifer Mc Leish-Lewis
Jen’s path into yoga began in 1999 at a “Loony Fridays” class held in the back of her ballet school. She went on to complete her teacher training in 2004 at the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga, studying the eight limbs of classical Ashtanga Yoga under devotees of Baba Hari Dass. Since then, she has taught in studios across Vancouver, Nanaimo, Cortes Island, Calgary, Montreal, and Guadalajara, Mexico, and is a deeply loved Vinyasa teacher within the Green Room Yoga community.
Her work is informed by a lifelong relationship to movement as a contemporary dancer and choreographer, alongside years of experience as a yoga instructor, bodyworker, and counsellor. Jen has continued her studies through certifications in Yin Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Asana as Prayer, Yoga Nidra facilitation, and Thai and Deep Tissue Massage.
In 2010, a profound healing experience with Yogi Amrit Desai led her to become a certified Amrit Yoga Nidra Instructor, deepening her commitment to the restorative and transformational potential of embodied practice. She has also practiced bodywork at the renowned learning centre, Hollyhock.
Blending movement, yoga philosophy, and intuitive healing practices, Jen brings a grounded, deeply attentive presence to her teaching. Her work invites students into greater self-awareness, deep listening, and a more intimate relationship with the wisdom of the body.
